Note: this print resulted from the artist's two-week visit to the village of Gambell on Saint Lawrence Island in Northwest Alaska.

A whaling captain is about to harpoon a sounding whale. Hi-yu, from the Chinook jargon, means "much" or "plenty;" muktuk is an Eskimo delicacy consisting of whale skin and blubber.
